Kenneth Yarbrough

Kenneth Burton Yarbrough, 66 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.
Ken was born March 23, 1949 in Mecklenburg County to the late Raymond Henry Yarbrough and the late Melva Beatrice Hovis Yarbrough. He was also preceded in death by his son, Kenny Yarbrough; and sisters, Janice Marshall and Audrey Moser.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Coyle Baptist Church, 12168 Coyle Rd., Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary, officiated by Rev. David Sanders. The burial will be in the church cemetery, with military honors conducted by the Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Brenda Sue Stephens Yarbrough of the home; three sons, Charles Yarbrough and wife Suzi of Harrisburg, Shaun Yarbrough and wife Isabel of Frog Pond, and Shane Yarbrough and wife Jennifer of Marshville; eleven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Ken worked as a mechanic, and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
