Kenny Wood

Kenny Richard Wood, 62 years of age, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. Kenny was born July 18, 1951 in Rowan County to the late William "Doc" Wood and the late Josie Bullard Wood. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Garrett Wood; and brother, Johnny "Unc" Wood. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Winfred Kimball and Rev. David Beaver. The burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. He is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle Morton Wood of the home; sons, Kenny Wood and wife Jennifer of Kannapolis, and Jesse Wood of Salisbury; grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn Wood of Kannapolis, and beloved dogs, BJ and Max. Kenny loved working as a security guard for P & G Security, and was a member of East Bethel Baptist Church. He was very involved in prosthetic mentoring and volunteering with Carson Booster Club.
