Kilmer Eli “Touppy†Clark, age 76 of Creekridge Circle, Albemarle, NC, passed away on May 24, 2010 at CMC Mercy in Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Thursday, May 27 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. Funeral service will be at 2 pm on Friday, May 28 with a 30 minute state at Homeland Baptist Church where he was a member. Rev. James Potts will officiate. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle. Military honors will be conducted by Stanly County DAV, Chapter 12. Born in Montgomery County, NC on February 11, 1934, he was the son of the late William McKinley Clark and the late Katherine Dick Clark. He was also preceded in death by his former wife, Cornelia Jean Clark. He was a fixer for Wiscassett Mills and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife Emma Jewel Plowman Clark of the home; sons, Wayne Clark and wife Sue of Richfield, Dale Clark (late wife Dee) of Albemarle, Curtis Polk and wife Debbie of Salisbury, and Michael Polk of Spruce Pine; daughters, Jeanie Godsey and husband Terry and Kathy Talbert and boyfriend Tim Sanders all of Albemarle; brother, Roger Clark of Albemarle and sister, Blanche Norris of Clinton; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
