Kitty Poole

Mary Catherine “Kitty” Ritchie Poole, 84 of Badin, NC, passed away on August 17, 2011 at the home of her daughter. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle from 6pm until 8pm on Sunday, August 21, 2011. The funeral service will be at the First Presbyterian Church at Badin at 2pm on Monday, August 22, officiated by Rev. Dan Wray, with a 30 minute state prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Kitty was born in Badin on April 23, 1927, to the late Coy A. Ritchie, Sr. and the late Elma Kathleen Lyerly Ritchie. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Ellis Poole, Sr. and her brother, Coy Ritchie. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Richardson and husband Bruce of Charlotte, NC; son, Calvin Poole, Jr. and his wife Helena of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Anna and David Richardson, Esther Richardson Argo and Nicole and Natalie Poole; and niece, Renita Ritchie. She was a retired bookkeeper, who worked at 4C’s Food Service and Confederate Motors. A past member of the Singing Americans, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Badin, and was an active member of the Eastern Star.
