Kyler Kerr Honeycutt, 35, of Midland, NC peacefully passed away at home on February 12th, 2024. He was born on November 18th, 1988 in Concord, NC. He was the son of the late Kent Honeycutt of Midland, NC. Kyler is survived by his mother, Brenda Kerr Honeycutt, a daughter Kaelyn Honeycutt of Midland, and a sister Kenda Honeycutt of Charlotte.
Kyler graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and Rowan Cabarrus Community College with degrees in Motor Sports Management and Machining. He was a machinist at Carbotech in Harrisburg. Also, for 10 years, he was the Head Tech for the South PASS Racing Series, which covered the entire Southeast.
Kyler’s greatest joy was sports, especially soccer. He particularly enjoyed the years playing and traveling as a family with the Mt. Pleasant Thunder soccer team, which later became Tri-County club. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his family on vacations to the lake and beach. He had his mother’s love for water.
Kyler also spent many hours playing varsity sports at Mount Pleasant High School. His love of soccer was passed to his daughter Kaelyn as she follows the family tradition of soccer. She is excelling and Kyler was overjoyed to see her play on a club team at nine years old just as he had. Kaelyn also plays varsity soccer at Central Cabarrus, which made him very proud.
Kyler never met a stranger, he was outgoing and fun, and leaves behind a wealth of friends. He was a people person who truly loved being around others. His smile lit up any room he walked into.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 19th from 6-8pm at Hartsell Funeral Home, 13575 Broadway Ave. in Midland, NC. Burial will be held privately.
Memorials may be donated to the charity of one’s choice or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
