Laban Baucom

Laban Craven Baucom, age 84, of 6205 Love Mill Rd., died February 28, 2010 at his granddaughter's home in Matthews. He was born March 6, 1925 in Monroe to the late J.Luther Baucom and Minnie Greene Baucom. He is also preceded in death by his wife Jean Nance Baucom, six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his son Carlton L. Baucom, Taylorsville, NC, granddaughters Abra Baucom, Cleveland, OH and Candice White, Matthews and five great-grandchildren. He was a wood worker for Moore Manufacturing in Monroe, NC. He was a member of Union Lodge AF & AM for 60 years. There will be Masonic Services at the graveside. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 2, from 6 - 8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland. The service will take place Wednesday, March 3, at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church, Monroe,NC, where he was a member, with Rev. Mike Riley and Rev. George Gouge officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
