Lacy Grier Boyles, Jr., age 64, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully with his wife and sons by his bedside on Sunday, August 13, 2017 after an extended illness.
Lacy was born May 3, 1953 in Charlotte, son of the late Lacy Boyles, Sr. and the late Irene Boyles.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. Over his career, Lacy worked at Duke Power for 17 years. Most recently, he was Senior Operations Manager at Wells Fargo where he retired after 22 years. In his leisure time, Lacy enjoyed restoring classic cars, most notably Mustangs and Chevys. He enjoyed working with his hands, creating unique gifts for friends and family. Lacy was a fan of NASCAR and motorsports. He loved spending time with his sons doing outdoor activities. He enjoyed helping others and volunteering at the church food pantry. Lacy loved and appreciated his Westford church family. He had a strong faith and loved the Lord.
Lacy never met a stranger. He always wore a smile and had a quick wit that drew people to him. He loved making people laugh.
Survivors include beloved wife of 35 years, Pam Burgess Boyles; two sons, Matt and Jason Boyles; brother, Jim Boyles (Ann); four sisters, Madolyn Norton, Linda Walker (Coley), Norma Kerr, and Darlene Childress (Keith); and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, 12115 University City Blvd. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Westford United Methodist Church, 273 Hwy 49S, Concord, officiated by Rev. Jeffrey J. Rushing. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Harrisburg, at 12025 University City Blvd., Charlotte.
