Lacy Grier Boyles Sr., age 95, 6901 River Hills Drive, Harrisburg NC, passed away peacefully at his residence January 5th, 2017.
Lacy was born August 28th, 1921 in Charlotte, son of the late Jim Boyles and the late Texa Mae Boyles.
He is preceded in his death by his wife, Irene Boyles, his sister, Mrs. Madeline Elder and five brothers, Charlie Boyles, Elwin Boyles, Hubert Boyles, Jimmie "Cub" Boyles and William Boyles.
Lacy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. He had a variety of jobs early in life but his love of automobiles led him to a career in car sales and eventually opening his own used car lot known simply as Lacy's Auto Sales where he could make a living doing what he loved, working on cars and developing friendships with those he did business with until his retirement. He was well known at all of the major car dealerships in Charlotte as he made his rounds making deals on cars for his own auto sales business.
Lacy had a passion for restoring classics, especially Ford Mustangs. Most important to him was his family. He was generous, caring and loved deeply by his family.
He is survived by daughters, Madolyn Norton, Linda Walker and husband Coley, Norma Kerr, Darlene Childress and husband Keith. In addition he is survived by sons, Jim Boyles, Sr. and wife Ann and Lacy Jr. and wife Pam as well as 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord January 10 , 2017 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. The funeral service, officiated by Larry Morgan, will follow visitation in Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel at 1 :OO pm. Burial, with full military honors provided by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard, will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Harrisburg, NC.
