Lamar "Red" Keen, 86 years of age, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Lamar was born November 22, 1928 in Georgia to the late John and Cassie Keen. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Gerri Keen; daughter, Nancy Madray; brothers, SK and Ricky Keen; and sisters, Dean Duncan and Ruby Griffin.
After Lamar retired from truck driving, his biggest joy was being the caretaker to his loving wife, Gerri, until she passed away in 2007. He loved working outdoors in the yard with his John Deere equipment. He also loved animals, restoring old cars and NASCAR.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Friday, April 3, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The graveside service will be Saturday, April 4, 3:00 pm, at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Road, Charlotte.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Scott and husband Dudley of Monroe; granddaughter, Michele Rosenberger and husband Chance of Charlotte; great-granddaughter, Linzie "Little Red" Rosenberger; sister, Anna "Billie" Casadonte of Wickliffe, OH; and son-in-law, Gene Madray of Charlotte.
