Larry Almond

Larry Wayne Almond, 66 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at his home. Larry was born January 11, 1947 in Stanly County to the late Floyd Davis Almond and the late Pauline Elizabeth Helms Almond. He was also preceded in death by sister, Eva Mae Almond. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, with Rev. Mark Medlin officiating. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Ann Lowder Almond of the home; sons, Brian Almond and wife Jennifer of New London, and Wesley Almond and wife Jennifer of Millingport; four grandchildren, Jaycie, Weslyn, Tyler, and Noah; brother, William "Bill" Almond of Millingport; and sister, Margaret Herlocker of Millingport.
