Larry Burleson

Larry Joe Burleson, age 72 of 5034 Woodrun on Tillery, Mt. Gilead, NC, passed away on November 29, 2010 at his home. Born in Albemarle, NC October 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Burleson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Brenda Deese Burleson; his son Barrett Burleson and wife Amy of Albemarle, NC; his daughter Susanna Keck and husband Rod of Albemarle, NC; his brother Mickey Burleson of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister Saundra Atkinson of Columbia, SC; and his grandchildren, Austin and Chandler Keck, Kelsey and Preston Burleson. He was a long time member of Main Street United Methodist Church where he served on various committees and was a dedicated member of the church choir. He was the owner of Dixie Camper Sales in Albemarle. He loved to travel, especially on skiing and sailing vacations. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf, and being an avid Carolina Panthers fan. Most of all he loved his grandchildren! The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home from 6-8 PM Wednesday, December 1. A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 2 at Main Street United Methodist Church at 11 AM. Rev. Patrick Hamrick will officiate the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County or Main Street United Methodist Church, 1100 West Main Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Burleson family.
