Larry Dennis

Rev. Larry Wayne Dennis, age 61 of 42816 Pine Acres Road, New London, NC passed away on November 12, 2010 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Sunday from 7 to 9. At other times the family will meet at the home of his daughter, 617 East Campbell Avenue, Salisbury. Funeral service will be in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel on Monday at 2 PM. Rev. Steve Holshouser and Rev. Otis Goins will officiate and burial will be in Brookhill Cemetery, Rockwell, NC. Born in Stanly County on September 03, 1949, he was the son of the late Henry Faye Dennis and the late Jettie Mae Chandler Dennis. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Hicks. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Troutman Dennis of the home; daughter, Michelle Russell and husband Brian of Granite Quarry; grandchildren, Brandon and Briana Russell; brothers, Bobby Dennis of Statesville and Jesse Dennis of Albemarle; sisters, Helen Sasser and Ann Clark, both of Albemarle, Irene Jeffreys of SC and Louise Burris of Raleigh. He was a Baptist preacher for 35 years, preaching in Stanly County and South Carolina. He served in the US Army. Memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church, 239 Sardis Road, Latta, SC 29565.
