Larry Green

Larry Casel Green, 79, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center – NorthEast in Concord. Mr. Green was born June 10, 1934 in Stanly County to the late Titus William Green and Elma Elizabeth Lee Green. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Perry Steven Green; his brother, Robert Green; his sisters, Margaret Coble and Louise Poplin. He was a Sergeant First Class in the Korean War. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, with a 30 minute state prior to the service, at Philadelphia Baptist Church, where Mr. Green served as a deacon, at 12495 Philadelphia Church Road, Stanfield, NC 28163. Rev. Dwight Mabry will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites presented by the Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. At other times, the family will meet at his home. Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Jean Thomas Green, of the home; his son, Terry Lynn Green, of the home; his granddaughter, Gina Lynn Green of Stanfield; his grandson, Jody Alan Green and his wife, Amber, of Stanfield; and his great-grandson, Dakota Allen Green; his brother, Royce Green; seven nieces and three nephews.
