Larry Hathcock, Sr

Larry Aldine Hathcock, Sr., age 71 of Lowder Street, Albemarle, NC, passed away December 9, 2011 at Presbyterian Main in Charlotte. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 6pm to 8 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times they will meet at his home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 2 pm in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel, Albemarle. Rev. Harry Harward will officiate and burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory. Born in Stanly County on November 16, 1940, he was the son of the late Edgar Hoyle Hathcock and the late Bertha Magdalene Morton Hathcock. He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry, Hathcock, Jr. on 2007. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce Gregory Hathcock of the home; son, Ricky Hathcock and wife Tammy of Albemarle; daughter Sherry Brown and husband? Tom of Albemarle; brother, Dorman Hathcock of Norwood; sister, Elizabeth Edwards of Albemarle; daughter in law, Annette Hathcock; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Retired from the textile industry, Mr. Hathcock was a loving husband, father and grandfather who would “cut his arm off” for his great grandbabies. He never met a stranger and loved everyone.
