Larry Eugene Helms, 67 years of age, of Concord, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 at University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill after a long battle with cancer.
Larry was born February 28, 1947 in North Carolina to the late Clifford Gene Helms and Vergie Ilene Helms Burnette.
He was also preceded in death by brother, John Richard Helms; paternal grandparents, Van & Veta Helms; maternal grandparents, John & Victoria Tucker.
Larry loved to travel, going to flea markets, beach music, and most of all, family.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Locust officiated by Elder Eddie Fowler.
Survivors include wife, Clari M. Helms of Concord, NC; sister, Patricia Lankford of Kannapolis, NC; mother, Vergie Ilene Helms Burnette; daughter, Angela Michelle (Jamie) Whitesides of Gold Hill, NC; daughter, Melody Nicole Helms of Concord, NC; daughter, Lea Michelle Helms of Concord, NC; daughter, Chicora Nicole Helms of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Brandon and Christian Cochrane of Gold Hill, NC; niece, April Stancil (Scott) & their children Andrew and Matthew of Concord, NC; and niece, Amanda Lankford.
Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Helms family.
