Larry Holmes

Larry Lee Holmes, 75, of Marshville, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his home in Marshville.

Larry was born September 15, 1945 in Newport News, Virginia to the late Hayward Lee Holmes and the late Athel Hamilton Holmes. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Kay Tatro.

Survivors include wife, Brenda Mills Holmes of Marshville, NC, sons; Jimmy (DeAnna) Holmes and Charlie Holmes, daughter, Cindy (Ronnie) Speights, grandchildren; Tiffany Tatro, Emily Tatro, Paige Diggs, Blake Holmes, Grant Holmes, Chase Speights, Justine Byrd, Kanten Holmes, and Kiley Holmes, step-grandchildren; Colton Rorie, Anya Rorie, and Ryder Carriker, 9 great-grandchildren, and sister, Wanda Holmes Carpenter.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Marshville officiated by Rev. John Miller. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery at 7002 Pleasant Hill Church Rd., Marshville.

Larry enjoyed his yard work including leaf blowing, weed eating, his garden, and cutting his green grass. He loved watching NASCAR, Fox News, and classic car auctions.

Memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
