Larry Howell, Sr

Larry Melvin Howell, Sr., 78 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at his home.

Larry was born June 22, 1937 in Ashe County to the late Webb Howell and Dora Belle Howell Dickson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Elaine Adair; and son, Larry Melvin Howell, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jimmie Bartley, will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Rd., Charlotte, NC 29227. Military honors will be conducted by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard. At other times, the family will be gathering at his home.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn Kathleen Weaver Howell of Stanfield; daughter, Diane H. Foust and husband Bob of Midland; grandson, Bobby Foust of Midland; granddaughter, Tonya Keller and husband Chris of Florida; and two great-grandchildren, Lukas and Kristen.
