Larry Rushing

Larry Wayne Rushing, 70 years of age, of Locust, NC passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord, NC. Larry was born March 22, 1943 in Stanly County to the late Ivey Faye Rushing and the late Sophia Arabelle Barbee Rushing. He was also preceded in death by daughter, Sharon Smith; and sister, Frances Tucker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland, NC. The funeral service will be held at the Hartsell Funeral Home Midland Chapel on Friday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha Delores Hinson Rushing of the home; sons, Tommy Rushing and wife Sherry of Stanfield, NC, Tracy Rushing of Oakboro, NC; daughter, Mary Ward of Oakboro, NC; brother, Grover Rushing and Joann of Stanfield, NC; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two nephews; and one niece. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Rushing family.
