Larry Tant

Larry Clifton Tant, 84, of Charlotte, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at his home.

Larry was born July 22, 1938 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Jimmy Clifton Tant and the Alice Christine Stephenson Lockey.

The funeral service will be on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11:30 am at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens at 1504 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte.

Survivors include wife, Donna Watson Tant of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Lori (Philip) Tomlinson, Robin (Tony) Manka, Kristina (Ben) Simms; grandchildren, Meredith (Sean) Kejriwal, Mitch (Ali Gonzalez) Mende, Zachary Simms, Clifton Simms, John Tomlinson; great-grandson, Giovanni Simms; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

Larry was always surrounded by family growing up and family has been everything to him from birth until his passing.  Larry worked for 20 years as a dispatcher in the trucking industry and then worked in security at Charlotte Coliseum and Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.  Larry had a great sense of humor and was a voracious reader.  He was an avid sports fan, especially for Tarheel basketball.  He was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse and Greater Carolina Hospice.
