Lars David Galyan

Lars David Galyan Sr., 67, of Concord, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at home with family by his side.

Lars was born October 2, 1951 in Mooresville to the late J.B. and Frances Galyan. He was also preceded in death by brother, Joel Galyan.

Lars was a veteran of the United States Army.  He enjoyed his retirement from Phillip Morris after working 25 years.  He enjoyed kicking back, going out to eat, throwing darts and participating in car shows with his '62 Chevy.  Lars was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include beloved wife of 37 years, Delores Smith Galyan; son, Lars Galyan Jr.; daughter, Emily (Wesley) Breece; grandchildren, Taylor Galyan and Decker Breece; sister, Becky Austin; brother, Norris Galyan; and several nieces and nephews; and devoted dog, Scooter.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland.  The funeral service will be 10:00 am on Monday, August 5th at Mill Grove UMC, 13659 US 601, Midland, officiated by Rev. Bob Sturge and Rev. Arval Rushing.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
