Laura Pearlene Greene, 76 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her residence in Albemarle.
Mrs. Greene was born February 13, 1939 in North Carolina to the late Clinton Alexander Smith and the late Sarah Odessa Smith.
She graduated from Oakboro High School and Evans College of Commerce. She was the retired owner of Greene Acres Nursery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, March 16, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Aquadale Baptist Church in Norwood and will be officiated by Rev. Craig Scott and Darrell Shaver. Burial will follow at the Aquadale Baptist Church Cemetery at 32871 Church Rd, Norwood, NC.
Survivors include husband, Joel Greene of Albemarle; son, Tony (Sharon) Greene; son, Rodney (Louise) Greene; grandsons; Matthew Greene and Seth Greene; granddaughter, Melody Greene; stepgrandchildren, Jimmy McCombs and Kris McCombs; aunts, Christine Mullis of Stanfield and Ann Edwards of Oakboro; and lots of friends and relatives.
