Laura Mills

Laura Cecil Watts Mills, age 94, of Albemarle, NC, formerly of Conway, SC, passed away on April 29, 2011 at Lexington Healthcare in Lexington, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 1 from 2-3PM at Anderson Grove Baptist Church of Albemarle. The service will follow at 3PM at the church. Rev. Ron Honeycutt and Rev. Yates Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Mills was born in Horry County, SC on February 5, 1917 to the late Smithy Watts and Mattie Marie Johnson Watts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Mills. Mrs. Mills was a member at Anderson Grove Baptist of Albemarle. She was a seamstress and also loved gardening and outdoor activities. Mrs. Mills is survived by son Dennis Wayne Mills of Lexington, NC; daughter Connie Diane Jordan and husband Reggie of Richfield, NC; granddaughter Laurie Summers of Locust, NC; Regina Jordan of Hagarstown, MD; grandson Matthew Jordan of Mt. Pleasant, NC and 6 great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Mills family. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
