Lawrence Ellison

Lawrence O. Ellison, 91 years of age, of Concord, formerly of Parkersburg, WV, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016.

Lawrence was born October 5, 1924 in Clarksburg, WV to the late Joseph and Iris Ellison.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Jesse; his sister Pauline Kelly.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sharon Davis Ellison of Concord, NC; his daughter, Stephanie Ellison Bruner and husband Chris; his grandchildren, Joseph, John and Kristi; his sisters, Cleo Morris and Loretta Gilbert.

Lawrence graduated in 1943 from Victory High School in Clarksburg, WV. The day after graduation he left for service in the United States Navy during World War II on the battleship USS Alabama. After the war he returned home to marry Sharon and moved to Parkersburg, WV where he worked for Kaiser Aluminum until retirement. They moved to Concord, NC 12 years ago to be close to their family. He enjoyed telling stories, and watching his grandson Joseph play football.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 11:30 am on Monday, March 7th, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11:30am officiated by brother-in-law, Larry Don Davis. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors.
