Lee Barbee, Sr

Lee Alexander “Bud” Barbee, Sr., 81 of, Concord, passed away quietly at his home, after an extended illness on Monday, September 10, 2012. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 6 until 8 PM. At other times the family meeting place will be at the home. The funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 2 PM. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. Bud was was born on April 8, 1931 in Cabarrus County, to the late Lewis Jonathan and Ora Mae Corl Barbee. He was also preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Louise Christy Barbee and daughter Deborah Dion. Bud retired from the US Air Force, as a Tech Sergeant. After his retirement he and his late wife Evelyn opened and operated 3 retirement homes. He was also a carpenter and built homes. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by: sons, Lee A. Barbee, Jr. of Kannapolis, Brian Barbee and wife Toni of Denton, Robert Barbee and wife Kathy of Concord; daughter, Jeannie Barbee Osborne and husband Vernon of Conway, SC; sister, Coleen Morgan of Concord; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren.
