Lem Johnson "L.J." Taylor, 74 years of age, of Locust, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at CMC-Northeast in Concord.
L.J. was born November 17, 1940 in Cabarrus County to the late John Henry Taylor and the late Bertha Catherine Kiker Taylor. He was also preceded in death by son, Jonathan Walter Taylor in 1989.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Russell McWhorter and Rev. Richard Collins will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Hartsell Funeral Home's Chapel in Midland. Burial will follow at the Oakboro Cemetery, 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro. At other times the family will be meeting at the home.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dianne Harvell Taylor of Locust; daughter, Christie Willis and husband, David; son, Michael Taylor and wife, Nichole; granddaughter, Kayla Willis; brother, Bill Taylor and wife, Mary; three nieces; and four nephews.
