Lenora Callihan

Friday, May 5, 2023, our beloved matriarch peacefully received her wings. This morning, as the sun appeared over our beautiful garden, we saw it shine brighter than ever before.

To many, Lenora Cameron Callihan was already an angel who could feel their needs and offer compassionate support.  Through her quiet listening, kind words, and millions of cookies, she uplifted their spirits.  To her closest family, she was known as Mema, Mama, Mom, Grandma, Grammy, Aunt Lenora, and Lulu. Titles of honor earned in her many years of caring for us with untiring energy and love.

Born on December 28, 1929 in Columbus County, North Carolina, Lenora was the youngest daughter of William Hasty Brown and Lillian Shepherd Brown.  Her parents and dearly missed children, Jan and Michael, are among the many cherished loved ones awaiting her in eternal light.

Close family members are planning an intimate gathering. Your prayers and condolences have already been felt by us. We sincerely appreciate all of her friends who share our intermingled heartbreak and joy. We would request your continued prayers while we all reflect upon the blessings that Lenora brought into our lives, doing this in the private manner that she requested.

We are planning to join with all of her many cherished family and friends at a celebration of life in Bladenboro later in the year. She will be laid to rest at a special place there.
