Leo Washington Eudy, 84 years of age, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at his home in the Ridgecrest Community. Mr. Eudy was born June 19, 1929 in Cabarrus County to the late Garrett Hobert Eudy and the late Flora Moyle Eudy. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hatley Eudy, in 1990; three sisters, Jan Smith, Beulah Williams and Ethel Morgan; and one brother, Von Eudy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jeremy Hyde, will be at 4:00 pm at Mission Baptist Church in Locust. Burial will follow at Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his daughter, Sheila (Fran) Albritton of Locust, son, Roger (Becky) Eudy of Locust, granddaughter, Christy (Jeremy) Baggarly, grandson, Garrett (Alyssa) Eudy, granddaughter, Heather Albritton and Phillip, grandson, Brandon (Chassidy) Albritton, great grandsons, Reid and Colton Baggarly, and sister, Margie Eudy of Locust. Mr. Eudy owned and operated Eudy's Phillips 66 on the Old Charlotte Road in Albemarle from 1956-73. He worked and retired as a supervisor for the NC Department of Transportation from 1973-1998.
