Leo Garmon

Leo Thompson Garmon, age 94, of Concord, NC, died on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 10 – 11 a.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel of Concord. Rev. Everette Cox will officiate. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in China Grove. Mr. Garmon was born July 7, 1917, in Cabarrus County to the late William Henry Garmon and Lilly Mae Steel Garmon, Mr. Garmon is also preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude McDonald Garmon. Survivors include one son, Ted Garmon; four daughters, Frances Kee, Peggy Hoggard, Dot Shutters, and Brenda Kee, all of Concord; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Mt Zion Freewill Baptist Church, 2005 Royal Oaks School Drive, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Garmon family.
