Leola Love

Leola Mae Love, 87, of Stanfield, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.

Leola was born January 11, 1932 in Cabarrus County to the late Fred and Dallie Love.  She was also preceded in death by beloved husband, Robert Love; sisters, Minnie Drye, Pauline Morgan and Faye Smith; brothers, Fred Love, Jr. and Jesse Love; and grandson, Daniel Blackwelder; daughter-in-law, Paulette Love; and son-in-law, Robbie Melton.

Leola loved working in her flowers and gardening.  She enjoyed bird and goat-watching.  She loved her St. Stephens Wesleyan Church and her church family.  Leola was a loving mother, grandma and "Old MawMaw."  She dearly loved her family and family gatherings.  Leola will be forever loved and greatly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include son, Roy Lee (Gail) Love of Locust; daughter, JoAnne (Glenn) Yow of Locust; daughter, Betty (Dean) Martin of Locust; daughter, Tammy Melton of Stanfield; brother, Jim Love of Mount Pleasant; sister, Nellie Drye of Oakboro; sister, Beatrice Blackwelder of Stanfield; sister, Doris Mullis of Oakboro; 11 grandchildren, Alisa and Rodney Love, Nick and Travis Hathcock, Scott Yow, Wendy Harwood, Michael Blackwelder, Garrett and Jonathan Martin, Kayce May and Rusty Brownfield; 13 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland.  The funeral service will be on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephens Wesleyan Church, 7601 Brusharbor Rd, Concord, officiated by Rev. Gary Morris.  Burial will follow at Love's Chapel UMC Cemetery, 808 South Love Chapel Rd., Stanfield.

At other times the family will be meeting at the home of Betty and Dean Martin, 16182 Austin Road, Locust, NC 28097.
