LeRoy (Roy) Harold Dominick Roy Dominick of Mt.Gilead died peacefully August 14, 2010 while vacationing with his family. Roy was born in Denver,Colorado on November 29,1929 to William and Mary Dominick. His siblings were William and Shirley,both deceased. He entered the Navy after high school graduation, serving four years during the Korean conflict. He was married for twenty five years to the former Marie Profit who died in 1982. His children are twin sons, Kevin and wife Carol of Escondido, CA and Keith of Monroe, NC daughter Kimberly Meyer and husband Bill of Stratford, Conn. Grandchildren are Brandon and Anthony Dominick and Shelby and Amanda Meyer. Roy is survived by his wife Claire who was his caregiver for many years. Stepson Vincent (Bud) Cesena and wife Cindy of Denver, NC and stepdaughter Bethe Lacey and husband Chris of Murrells Inlet, SC. Step grandchildren are Marshall and wife Allie,Brennan and Grayson Cesena and Katrina Lacey Borer and Nicole Lacey. Roy was a car enthusist all of his life. As a boy he raced model cars, and later in life watched his sons participate in drag races. He was employed by car dealerships in Colorado,Texas, and North Carolina and was in middle management many years for the Chrysler Corporation and General Motors. He owned a 1928 Ford that won several car awards. He was also an enthusiastic NASCAR fan. After retirement he was active in many organizations,including being a Mason and Shriner. Roy was a volunteer tax preparer for AARP for over ten years and was on the board and served as treasurer of the Stanly County Senior Center. He also served on the Vestry and as treasurer of Christ Episcopal Church. Services to honor Roys life will be held on Friday August 20,2010 at 2:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church located at 428 Pee Dee Avenue Albemarle,NC. Visitation with the family will be at the home at 366 Pinebark Circle in Woodrun on Thursday August 19 2010 from 4:00-7:00 pm. Roy was loved by many and will truly be missed by family and friends, especially his cat Harley. In Lieu of flowers please make your contributions to Christ Episcopal Church at P.O.
