Levey Tarlton

Levey Elizabeth (Green) Tarlton, age 86, of Concord, N.C., died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at CMC-Northeast. Mrs. Tarlton was employed by Fun Tee's - Concord and was a member of First Assembly, Concord. The family meeting place will be at the home 739 Gaylan Court, Concord. Levey was a hard working woman from the greatest generation who never wandered from her Great Depression upbringing. Honor, Loyalty, Simplicity, Self-Dignity, and Respect for Others were only a few of her inherent traits. She always had time for a conversation. She judged no one by their wealth but by the size of their heart and the sparkle in their eyes. She never had to stop and think about what was right and wrong. Doing the Right Thing was ingrained in her spirit. She assumed she was a grain of sand on the beach of life, but in reality she was the Rock of Gibraltar to the many who knew her. No one can replace her, truly a one of a kind human being. Family above all else was her greatest possession and pride.. . Born in Florence, SC on August 01, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Sylvester Green and the late Roseala "Rosa" (McGee) Green. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Eugene "Gene" Tarlton, and sister Gracie McCoy. She is survived by her sons- Donald Tarlton & wife Dorothy of Star, NC and Dwight Tarlton of Kinston, NC and Daughter-Debra(Tarlton)Johnson & husband Eric of Charlotte, N.C Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Concord, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2009. Funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel - Concord at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 13, 2009 , Rev. Phil Bennett officiating. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis.
