Lewis Newell, Jr.

Lewis Albert Newell Jr, 77, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis NC

Lewis was born October 18, 1945, in North Carolina to the late Lewis Albert Newell Sr. and the late Dora Lee Newell.  He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Lee Newell.

Lewis was a devoted Christian in which his faith never wavered. He had a special love for his beautiful wife, and they shared 60 amazing years together. In his spare time, he would be found fishing, kayaking, cycling, and enjoying the outdoors. Lewis was the best friend anyone could ask for and he dedicated a lot of his time to being there for others when they were in need. He exemplified what it was to be a man and how to properly care for your family. Lewis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Saturday, June 17, 2023, at New Life Church of Jesus Christ. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 2:00 pm at New Life Church of Jesus Christ in Concord officiated by Pastor Lawson Whitson. Burial will follow at the West Lawn Memorial Park at 1350 S. Main St., China Grove.

Survivors include wife, Brenda Newell of Concord, NC, son, Lewis Albert Newell, III of Monroe, NC, daughter, Angela Brewer, daughter, Ginger Gayle Geill, 11 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids.
