Lillian Marie Talbert Chandler age 88 of 37609 US Hwy 52, New London, NC passed away Sunday, Sept 5, 2010 at her home. She was born June 10, 1922 in Stanly County, NC to the late Charlie Monroe Talbert and Cevellia Morton Talbert. She was also preceded in death by brother; James R. Talbert and sister Nellie Sasser. She was retired from Federal Pacific Electric in Albemarle and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was a member and former secretary of United Methodist Women, an administrative board member, member of Woodman of the World, former secretary of Lodge #25 in Albemarle and was a National Representative and delegate of the State Woodman Convention. She was also a New London Home Extension Club member. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John Henry Chandler, son; John Dwight Chandler and wife Judy of New London, daughters; Rebecca Cresswell and husband Jimmy of Badin, Irma Almond and husband Steve of Albemarle. Grandchildren; Kristina Stiller and husband Ritchie, Tonya Bentley and husband Josh, Bryan Chandler, J. R. Cresswell, Jr, and wife Brooke, John Cresswell and wife Sarah, Barry Almond and special friend Felica Frick, and Laura Blalock and husband Brian; twelve great grandchildren, brother; Charlie M. Talbert of Lake Station, Indiana, sister; Grace Cagle of Nampa, Idaho. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with a 30 minute state and burial to follow in the church cemetery. Revs. David Nolan and Carroll Flack to officiate. The family will meet at her home. Memorials may be made to: Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O.
