Lillian A. Misenheimer, 91, died July 23, 2010 at the Lutheran Home in Albemarle, NC. Born December 3, 1918 in Stanly County, Ms. Misenheimer was the daughter of the late Ora Mae Whitley and Ernest Luther Misenheimer. She was a graduate of the Stanly County schools and Lenoir-Rhyne College. Retired after 34 years as an English teacher at Albemarle Senior High, Ms. Misenheimer is remembered by many former students, as well as others who worked and taught within the school system. She was a life-long member of First Lutheran Church in Albemarle. She was preceded in death by her brother, the Rev. Dr. Ernest L. Misenheimer, Jr., her sister-in-law, Margaret L. Misenheimer, and her nephew Ernest Luther Misenheimer III. Survivors include her nephews the Rev. David Misenheimer, Charlotte, the Rev. John Misenheimer, Wilmington, and the Rev. Stephen Misenheimer, Knoxville, TN. Ms. Misenheimer will remain at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle where friends are welcome to come by and pay their respects anytime between 12 Noon on Sunday, July 25 and 1:00 PM on Monday, July 26. Graveside services will be Monday, July 26, at 1:30 PM at Fairview Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 on Monday, July 26, at First Lutheran Church. Rev. John Futterer will officiate. The family will visit with friends after the memorial service at the church. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, 230 South Second Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
