Lillie Benton

Mrs. Lillie Bell Layton Benton, 87, of 7447 Barrier Georgeville Road, Concord passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010 at her home. She was born on March 22, 1923 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Franklin and Mary Lola Holland Layton. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord in the Chapel on Thursday, July 22, 2100 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Clinton Efird officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family meeting place will be the home. She is preceeded in death by her husband, Grady Johnson Benton, Jr. and a son, Johnny Benton. She is survived by sons Larry Eugene Benton, of Murfreesboro, TN, David Franklin Benton, of Concord, Grady Johnson Benton Jr., of Charleston, SC, Ronald Lee Benton, of Concord; daughters Mrs. Mary Elaine Webb, of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Shirley Delores Carnes, of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Shelia Darleen Ingram, of Concord, Mrs. Sherry Denise Mouton, of Concord; brothers, Ben Franklin Layton, of Concord, John Archibald Layton, of Concord; sisters, Mrs. Mary Josephine Wensil, of Concord, Mrs. Ruby Cleo Widenhouse, of Concord; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren.
