Lillie Springer

Cumming, Georgia - Mrs. Lillie Mae Fesperman Springer went to meet her Lord, Jesus Christ, on 15 July 2012. A graveside service will be held at Albemarle Cemetery, Pee Dee Ave, Albemarle, NC on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Mrs. Springer was born on Nov 1, 1909 in Stanly County, North Carolina. She was a daughter of Daniel Monroe Fesperman and Laura Ann Parker Fesperman. She became the widow of Theodore Roosevelt Springer after sixty-four years of marriage when he passed in 1998. She was preceded in death by her brother H. Dewey Fesperman of Albemarle NC, and her sister, Thora F. Nifong of Winston-Salem, NC. She was employed at the Lillian Knitting Mill in Albemarle before relocating to Charlotte in 1956 where she was also employed in the textiles industry. Mrs. Springer was a member of Central Methodist Church in Albemarle until 1956. Following that time, she was a member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church of Charlotte for the next fifty-three years where she was an active member of the Joy Outlook Class. She spent the final years of her life in the tender care of the wonderful people of White Oaks at Lanier in Cumming, Georgia. Her family will always be grateful for the loving staff that cared for her so graciously. She is survived by her son, Carroll V. Springer and his wife, Linda Elaine Burch Springer of Cumming, GA. Survivors also include grandson Terry C. Springer, his wife Michele Taylor Springer of Cumming GA, grandson Matthew O. Springer and his wife Jennifer J. Springer of Cumming, GA, and grandson Dr. Russell D. Springer and his wife Mary Jill Turner Springer of Athens, GA. Great-grandchildren include Jackson C. Springer and Taylor R. Springer of Cumming GA, and Abigail M. Springer of Athens, GA. Many very special nieces and nephews complete her family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Eagle Ranch, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, Georgia 30502. Eagle Ranch is a Christian facility for children in need. Also, Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church at 501 Hawthorne Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Springer family.
