Linda Hicks

Linda Carol Wilkes Hicks, 60 years of age, of Charlotte, went home to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday, February 20, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. Linda was born March 9, 1953 in Ashland, KY to the late Vessie Wilkes and the late Carma Lillian Wilkes Hutchinson. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rebekah Ann Hicks, who passed away in 1981; and brother, Gerald "Mickey" Wilkes. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Christ Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Christ Baptist Church officiated by her son-in-law, Rev. Anthony Rogone and assisted by Dr. Dennis Burton and Phillip Morris. The burial will be at East Ashland Memorial Gardens in Ashland, KY. At other times the family will be gathering at the home. Linda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Rev. Clyde Stephen Hicks of the home; son, Jason Scott Hicks of Charlotte; daughter, Stephanie Rogone and husband Anthony of Indian Trail; grandson, John Rogone; and brother, Roger Wilkes of Ohio. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved her church and was a faithful member of Christ Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved spending time with her family and going to the beach. Memorials may be made to Christ Baptist Church, 2818 Highway 218 W., Indian Trail, NC 28079.
