Linda M. Hunt

November 27, 1956 — March 25, 2025

Salisbury

Linda Marie Hunt, 68, of Salisbury, NC, formerly of Reynoldsburg, Oh, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born November 27, 1956 in Ohio to the late William Richard Barber and Dorothy Lee Barber.

She was also preceded in death by husband of 41 years, William Henry Hunt.

Linda was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a passionate educator who touched the lives of many throughout her career. She dedicated her life to teaching and instilling a love for learning in her students. After earning an Associate’s degree from Kentucky Christian College, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Ohio Dominican University and a Master’s in the Art of Teaching from Mary Grove College. Her professional journey began as a 5th grade teacher at Licking Heights School, where she served from 2000 to 2015. She then transitioned to a Title 1 Reading teacher from 2015 to 2020 before returning to the classroom as a 4th grade teacher from 2020 to 2022.

Outside of the classroom, Linda was a woman of many talents and interests. She loved sewing, crafting, and woodworking, and her creative spirit shone through in all her projects. She was an active member of the Pickerington Community Theater, where she performed and directed a number of dramas, further sharing her passion for the arts with the community.

Above all, Linda was a devoted and faithful Christian who lived out her faith every day. She loved the Lord and found joy in serving Him. Her family and friends knew her as someone who had a heart full of love and a fierce devotion to her family. As a grandmother, she was known affectionately as “Gammaw,” always spoiling her grandchild with affection, kindness, and attention.

Linda Hunt will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Survivors include daughter, Becky Poling and husband James; daughter, Rachel Moore and husband Geoffrey; grandchildren, Emma Poling, Brayden Poling, Kayla Greene and Karrie Cavin; brother Richard Barber and wife Marcie; sister Vickie Gold and husband Robert; sister Brenda Vellia and husband Lou; as well as several nieces and nephews.
