Linda Ann Reed, 72, previously of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Compass Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Spencer.
Linda was born April 17, 1948 in Charlotte to the late Harvey and Gertrude Wilson.
She worked for the Federal Government over the course of her career until her retirement, most recently at Immigration and Naturalization Services.
Linda was a member of Harrisburg United Methodist Church and loved her church family and church leadership. She loved all animals and had space in her heart to rescue several dogs and cats over the years. That kindness and love was demonstrated in her compassion to others. If someone was in need, Linda was often the first to step in to give her time and love.
Linda was quick-witted and often laughing. She enjoyed a good joke or prank and would end up in tears with the person she was laughing with. Linda knew how to find fun in the small things, often helping others find laughter and lightness in moments where it seemed impossible.
More than anything else, Linda loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was eager to meet and love each grandchild that entered her life. They were all miracles to her, indeed, they were the light of her life.
Survivors include daughter, Kimberly Potts and husband, Andy; son, John Reed; grandchildren, Emma, Serena, William, Charlie and Mason; and several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 am - 11:45 am, Friday, December 4, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Toni Ruth Smith. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1504 W. Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
