Lizzie Holleman

Mrs. Lizzie “Irene” Holleman, 88, of 2452 Rock Hill Church Road in Concord, formerly of Locust, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Concord Place Assisted Living Facility. She was born on November 12, 1921 in Union County to the late Charlie and Iola Gertrude Pressley Medlin A visitation will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at Friendship Baptist Church, 9360 Oak Grove Road, Stanfield from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 2:00 pm with Rev. Clint Lewey officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Holleman retired from the Stanly County School System as a custodian. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Stanfield. Mrs. Holleman is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph Alvin Holleman. She is survived by daughters, Lora Connell, of Concord, Teresa Wilkinson, of Concord, and Avin Whiteley, of Clyde, TX; five grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
