Lloyd Mullis

Lloyd Leon Mullis, 88, of Stanfield, N.C., passed away Friday, May 3, 2013; he went to be with his Lord. Mr. Mullis was born November 27, 1924 in Stanfield, N.C., to the late Robert and Lyne Mullis. Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Stanfield, N.C. He retired from Cannon Mills after 35 years of service. He loved working in his vegetable garden, spending time outdoors and being with his family. He was a devoted member of Berea Baptist Church for more than 10 years The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Monday, May 6, 2013 at, Berea Baptist Church, 100 Berea Baptist Church Rd, Stanfield, NC 28163. Rev. Keith Austin and Rev. Jody Wetta will officiate. Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Beddie Jean Love Mullis for 63 years; son, Ronnie Mullis of Midland, N.C. and daughter, Linda Pope and husband Bill of Locust, N.C.; two grandchildren, Allen Pope of Locust, N.C. and Jessica Furr and husband Adam of Knoxville, TN; one great-grandson, Lucas Furr; special neighbors, Claude and Rita Helms and his beloved grandpet, TA. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations may be made in his honor to Berea Baptist Church, 100 Berea Baptist Church Rd, Stanfield, NC 28163. Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland is serving the Mullis family.
