Lloyd Tucker

Lloyd White Tucker, 75 years of age, of New London, went to be with his Lord Sunday, October 6, 2013 at his home. Lloyd was born September 13, 1938 in Hamlet, North Carolina to the late Harley Bivens "H.B." Tucker and the late Reba Goldie White Tucker. The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 2 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Rev. Harold Smith, with Rev. Todd Tucker assisting. The burial will follow at Faith Freewill Baptist Cemetery in New London. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda Gail Hudson Tucker of the home; his three children, Gail O'Conner and husband Michael of New London, Lloyd Keith Tucker and wife Bealynn of Kansas City, MO, Timothy Todd Tucker and wife Judy of Albemarle; four grandchildren, Bethany Tucker Brady and husband John, Lloyd Trent Tucker, Russell Todd Tucker, and Ginny Lynn Tucker; great grandson, Garrett Lee Brady; brother, TC Tucker of Statesville; sister, Pauline Tucker Thompson of Hamlet; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. Lloyd retired from Collins and Aikman in Albemarle. He loved his family and friends and was very devoted to his church and work for the Lord. He served his church in many ways. He was Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Choir director, youth leader and sang in groups as long as his health allowed. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Tucker family.
