Lois Walters Dege

Lois Walters Dege, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023, at her residence in Harrisburg, NC. She was born November 4, 1943, in Plainfield, New Jersey to the late William Peter Walters and the late Gertrude Hendershott Walters.

She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Mae Mehl Walters.

Lois graduated from Dunellen High School (NJ) class of 1962. She worked as an EEG Technician for many years at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ and Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. She was very adept at needlework and quilting. For several years, she made quilts that were used for the infant baptisms at the Harrisburg United Methodist Church. She also loved to be outside caring for her garden and bird watching.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 29th from 1 - 2 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home at 12115 University City Blvd., Harrisburg, NC. Burial will follow at the Harrisburg Presbyterian Church cemetery.

She will forever be missed by her husband of 61 years, Robert Alan Dege, Sr. of Harrisburg, NC; daughter, Pamela Ann Dege, son, Robert Alan Dege, Jr. and his wife Wenona Dege; grandchildren, Jeremy Dege and Matthew Dege, sister, Judith Beck and nephew, Kenneth Beck.

Memorials may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation in lieu of flowers.
