Lois Mabry

Lois Marie Harward Mabry, 80 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center - Main in Charlotte. Lois was born September 16, 1933 in Stanly County to the late James Oscar Harward and the late Mattie Lou Burgin Harward. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Clarence Haywood Mabry, Sr.; and brother, Johnny B. Harward. Lois graduated from Woman's College of North Carolina in 1955 and after serving many years, retired from the Stanly County School System. She loved her family and was a passionate caregiver of her husband, Clarence who passed away in February of this year. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley and Chaplain Robert Mabry will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at West Albemarle Baptist Church, 336 Church Street, Albemarle, NC. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. She is survived by sons, Clarence Mabry, Jr. and wife, Jamie of Aiken, SC, Robert Mabry and wife, Terry of Albemarle, Paul Mabry and wife, Kathy of Seneca, SC and Thomas Mabry of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Deborah Monroe and husband, George of Concord; Seven Grandchildren, and One Great-Grandson. At other times the family will be meeting at the home of her son, Robert Mabry. Memorials may be made to North Carolina Baptist Men's Association, 205 Convention Drive, Cary, NC 27511.
