Lois Deane Roberts McDaniel, 87 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Saturday, January 14, 2017.
She was born October 26, 1929 in Shelby, NC to the late Melvin Elias Roberts and the late Mattie Lou Roberts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Emmett Roberts.
Deane was a devoted Christian who truly loved Jesus and was a long time member of Plyler Baptist Church. She worked at Federal Pacific and later at E.J. Snyder & Co.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM, Monday, January 16, 2017, at Plyler Baptist Church, 25958 Austin Road, Albemarle. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:30 PM officiated by Rev. Brian Franklin, Rev. Tab Whitley, Rev. Don Burleyson, and J.R. Drake. Burial will be held in the church cemetery following the service.
Deane is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Bill McDaniel; daughter, Gayle Lowder and husband Dickie; son, Roger McDaniel and wife Sue; grandsons, Christopher McDaniel and wife Courtney, and Kellis Harwood; great-grandchildren, London, Ariana and Hunter McDaniel; brothers, Rollins Roberts and wife Wilma, Kenneth Roberts and wife Judy, and Gilbert Roberts and wife Janice; sister, Faye Eudy and husband Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie for their loving care during Deane's illness.
