Lois Surratt

Lois Esther (Honeycutt) Surratt, age 82, of New London, N.C., died Saturday, August 1, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Surratt was born March 25, 1927 in Stanly County, NC She was employed by Collins & Aikman, Albemarle and was a member of Laurel Street Baptist Church. The family will meet at the home of John Surratt, 1117 Austin St, Albemarle, NC. She was the daughter of the late Robert Honeycutt and the late Fannie (Lefler) Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Thomas Honeycutt and Robert Honeycutt, sisters, Frances Thompson, Hettie Sasser, Annie Martin, Ruth Lewis, Hellen Carpenter and son-in-law, Miles Parnell. She is survived by her husband Clyde Melvin Surratt of the home. Daughter-Libby Ann Parnell of Albemarle, N.C. Daughter-Mary Morris of Norwood, N.C. Daughter-Gaye Morris of Troy, N.C. Son-Clyde Melvin Surratt, Jr. and wife Denise of Albemarle, N.C. Son-John Wayne Surratt and wife Janice of Albemarle, N.C. Son-Rodney Lee Surratt and wife Rosa of Albemarle, N.C. Son-Gary Smith of Rockingham, N.C. Twenty grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. Brother-James Blake of Albemarle, N.C. Brother-Reuben Honeycutt of Albemarle, N.C. Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Albemarle, P. O. Box 7, Albemarle, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Funeral service will be at Laurel Street Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2009 , John Surratt, Son officiating. Interment will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Albemarle, N.C. Memorials may be made to: Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St, Albemarle,NC 28001.
