Lonnie Franklin Crews, Jr., 38, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2017 after fighting a long courageous battle of pancreatic cancer.
He was born August 31, 1978 in Burlington, Vermont. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Crews and a half-brother, Doug Crews.
He has left behind a loving wife, Stacy, of New London, three children whom he loved, adored and devoted his life to, Desmond, 12, Jaden, 11 and Logan, 9; mother, Linda Crews (Dale) of Richfield; nine siblings, Stacy (John) Fredette of Murphy, Chrissy Bolton of Richfield, Tammy Hudson of Albemarle, Brenda (John) Crews of Albemarle, Airy (Jamie) Crews; half sister, Teresa Mashteare of Vermont and a half-brother, Timothy Crews of Vermont. As well as a very special nephew, Alexander, who was like a son, and many more nieces and nephews.
He has left behind a legacy in which to follow. He was a Christian who believed in helping others and paying it forward. He hoped and believed that all would continue in Jesus’ steps so that none would perish.
The family would like to express their thanks to Community Home Care and Hospice of Troy, the doctors and nurses at Levine Cancer Institute, the doctors and nurses at CHS-Stanly, especially the Radiology Department and many thanks to the Dream Foundation for the opportunity to make long lasting memories for his family.
Thank you to all his friends who he loved dearly and who he thought of as family.
There will be a service at Pure Heart Family Church, 1926 Hwy. 52 in Albemarle at 2 p.m. April 29, 2017 and a celebration of life at his home in New London.
