Lonnie Poole

Lonnie Baxter Poole, age 68 of 2854 Craven Street SW, Supply, NC 28462, passed away on November 16, 2010 at his home. He was born June 17, 1942 in Carthage, NC to the late Walter Raleigh Poole and Etta Esther Davis Poole. He served three years (Oct 1960 – Oct 1963) in the US Army with the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, KY. Married to the former Sue Sasser, they lived in Albemarle until his retirement, having 30 years service with Frito-Lay. While in Albemarle he was a member of Bethesda Methodist Church. He loved fishing and was an avid deep sea fisherman. The Pooles moved to Supply, NC in 1999. Lonnie enjoyed taking his boat out with friends and went deep sea fishing almost weekly. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Sue Sasser Poole; son, Randy Poole of Charlotte, NC; brothers, Carol Poole of Biscoe, NC, Harold Poole of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Wilma Freeman of Star, NC, Kathy Moore of Robbins, NC, Mary Frances Parsons of Star, NC, Wanda Seacrest of Star, NC. Visitation will be at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Saturday, November 27 from 12:30 to 2 PM. Memorial service will be on Saturday at 2 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. The burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery. Rev. Ron Honeycutt will officiate.
