Lorene Grimes

Mrs. Lorene Gibson Grimes, 78, of Concord, went to be with the Lord at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at her home after months of declining health. The family will receive friends at Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Road, Concord, on Friday, May 25, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Scott Davis, will follow in the church at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Pitts Baptist Church Cemetery. Lorene was born on September 1, 1933, to the late Aaron and Gladys Gibson. Lorene leaves behind a loving husband of 34 years, Ed Grimes; two daughters, Terry Kriediman and husband, Keith of Monroe and Sherry Kemp and husband, Bobby of Statesville; four sons, Steven Shaw and wife, Debbie of Roanoke, VA, Benny Shaw and wife, Belinda of Mocksville, Barry Shaw and wife Dana of Charlotte, and Michael Shaw of Belmont; two step-daughters, Theresa Crawford and husband, Danny of Blanchester, OH and Brenda Key and husband, David of Clarksville, TN; two step-sons, Rusty Grimes and wife, Birtie of Wilmington, OH and David Grimes and wife, Maryann of Sabina, OH; 24 grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
