Lorene Vanhoy

Lorene Vanhoy, 88, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019 at Stanly Manor.

Mrs. Vanhoy was born June 15, 1930 in Stanly County to the late Hoyle Fraley and the late Flossie Greene Fraley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Vanhoy; brothers, Roy and Wayne Fraley; and twin sisters, Doris Sides and Dorothy Huneycutt.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at West Albemarle Baptist Church's Family Life Center, 336 Church Street, Albemarle. The funeral service will be held in the church sanctuary at 1:00 PM officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.

Survivors include daughters, Faye Blalock of Albemarle; Janice Binkley McCoy (Dene) of Alabama; and Sharon Barbee Griggs (Ronnie) of Lexington; son, Bud Vanhoy (Jackie) of Rockwell; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sid Talbert Youth Fund c/o West Albemarle Baptist Church, 336 Church Street, Albemarle, NC 28001.
